If you plan to drive on the beach, be sure to stop at the gas/store (Stanley's) at the blinking light in Matagora to get a $6 beach permit.
If you drive on the beach - some days a 2 wheel drive car will do fine, and the next, a 4x4 vehicle with good clearance above the sand is required
Not that you have been warned about driving on the beach, there is no need to drive! The beach is only a couple of hundred feet from the front door (4 minutes walk) - so we usually just walk.
